UCT 2026

The 2026 3rd International Conference on Urban Construction and Transportation (UCT 2026) Concludes Successfully

On July 17, 2026, the 2026 3rd International Conference on Urban Construction and Transportation (UCT 2026) was successfully held online. The conference was supported by Inner Mongolia University and the Swiss Institute of Management and Innovation (SIMI), bringing together experts and scholars from universities and research institutions across China, Malaysia, and other countries to engage in in-depth academic exchanges on interdisciplinary topics in urban construction and transportation.

Opening and Keynote Speeches

The conference officially opened on the afternoon of July 17, featuring three distinguished experts who delivered keynote speeches on cutting-edge topics including intelligent connected transportation, commercial vehicle safety monitoring, and EV charging demand forecasting.

The first keynote speaker: Prof. Chuan Ding, Beihang University

Prof. Ding primarily conducts research on road traffic system modeling and operational control. His speech was titled Multi-Vehicle Cooperative Driving Technology in Heterogeneous Intelligent Traffic Environments. To address the significant disparities in perception and decision-making capabilities among vehicles with varying automation levels in mixed-autonomy traffic environments, Prof. Ding's team proposed the Cooperative Heterogeneous Reinforcement Learning (CHRL) framework. The framework integrates a virtual perception generation module that leverages a graph attention mechanism to supplement environmental awareness for less-capable connected and intelligent vehicles using observational data from high-level connected and autonomous vehicles, effectively mitigating uncertainties caused by partial observability.

The second keynote speaker: Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Ng Choy Peng, National Defence University of Malaysia

Assoc. Prof. Ng Choy Peng is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the National Defence University of Malaysia, with over two decades of research experience in highway and transportation engineering and road safety. Her speech was titled From Tracking to Prevention: Transforming Commercial Vehicle Safety with AI-Powered Vehicle Telemetry. In response to the frequent traffic accidents involving commercial vehicles in Malaysia and the limitations of existing telemetry systems that focus on post-accident analysis without real-time risk assessment capabilities, Prof. Ng's team developed the Vehicle Telemetry Alert System (VTAS). The system integrates multi-source vehicle data with artificial intelligence technologies to identify risky driving behaviors, detect emerging hazards, and generate real-time alerts prior to the occurrence of traffic accidents.

The third keynote speaker: Prof. Duo Li, Huazhong University of Science and Technology

Prof. Li's main research areas include transportation perception and control, intelligent transportation systems, and transportation system resilience. His speech was titled Generative Self-Supervised Learning for Cyberattack-Resilient EV Charging Demand Forecasting. In response to the vulnerability of EV charging demand forecasting to cyberattacks, Prof. Li's team proposed a generative multi-task self-supervised learning framework called GenS2-P, which integrates a denoising/reconstruction autoencoder with a spatio-temporal prediction model to effectively counter data poisoning attacks and denial-of-service attacks.
